I'm engaged to a wonderful man and we'll be getting married in January. I am the proud puppy-parent of a three year old miniature dachshund, Sassafras ("Sassy" for short), who is my number one side-kick. I work as a Community Health Educator and I'm the Director of Youth Ministry at Auburn UMC. I enjoy traveling both in the US and abroad. I am very active in breast cancer awareness, advocacy and fundraising. I participated in the 2010 Washington DC Susan G. Komen 3-Day 60 mile walk and I completed my first half marathon in June which raised money for the American Cancer Society.
I joined the Auburn UMW almost six years ago and I am the current president of our circle.
This will be my second international mission trip. I was a member of the 2008 Wytheville District Mission Team to Slovakia. My Slovakia trip was an experience beyond words and I am so thankful for this opportunity to travel to Brazil. I wanted to be a part of this team because I have a passion for women's issues and I love to learn about new places and new people.
