Susan and her husband have two daughters. She teaches undergraduate marine biology and environmental science, writes stories for adults and children and works part-time in her local library. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, exploring nature, traveling and learning about other cultures, reading, gardening, singing and listening to music.
Susan serves as the social action chair for her UMW unit. Why is Susan participating in this trip? "This journey really spoke to me because of the focus and the country. I have several close friends from Brazil and have always wanted to visit their country and get to know more about the people and places first-hand."
